Good Afternoon Challenger Families and Staff.
Today we were made aware of a potential threat against Challenger Middle School. The District took immediate action and removed the student from class. The threat was immediately reported to Law Enforcement and the District's Threat Assessment team. After the investigation it was determined that there was no credible threat to the campus.
The safety of our school community remains our highest priority, and we appreciate your trust as we respond swiftly and responsibly to any situation involving student safety. Please encourage your students if they see or hear something to say something. We also want to remind families of the importance of discussing with students that statements involving school violence whether made seriously or as a joke are unacceptable and can have serious consequences.
We truly appreciate the support and hard work of the LA County Sheriff Department and our District personnel who took this situation seriously and responded quickly to resolve this incident to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the entire Wilsona school community.

Hoy fuimos informados de una posible amenaza contra la Escuela Intermedia Challenger. El Distrito tomó medidas inmediatas y retiró al estudiante de la clase. La amenaza fue reportada de inmediato a las autoridades policiales y al equipo de evaluación de amenazas del Distrito. Tras la investigación, se determinó que no existía una amenaza creíble para el campus.
La seguridad de nuestra comunidad escolar sigue siendo nuestra máxima prioridad, y agradecemos su confianza mientras respondemos con rapidez y responsabilidad ante cualquier situación que involucre la seguridad de los estudiantes. Les pedimos que animen a sus hijos a que informen si ven o escuchan algo sospechoso. También queremos recordarles a las familias la importancia de hablar con sus hijos sobre el hecho de que las declaraciones relacionadas con la violencia escolar, ya sean dichas en serio o en broma, son inaceptables y pueden tener graves consecuencias.
Agradecemos sinceramente el apoyo y el arduo trabajo del Departamento del Sheriff del Condado de Los Ángeles y del personal de nuestro Distrito, quienes tomaron esta situación en serio y respondieron rápidamente para resolver este incidente y garantizar la seguridad de los estudiantes, el personal y toda la comunidad escolar de Wilsona.

Hello, Challenger Middle School Parents and Guardians.
We would like to remind you that our students will be testing from April 20th to April 24th. Please make sure your children are well rested and arrive to school no later than 7:25am. Remind your children to come to school prepared and to make sure that their computers are charged for testing.
We would also like to remind you that we will not remove students from a classroom if the teacher is in the middle of testing. Please try to schedule any appointments for after school hours during the testing period.

Nos gustaría recordarles que nuestros estudiantes realizarán exámenes del 20 al 24 de abril. Dear Parents and Guardians,
To ensure the safety of all students, we kindly ask for your cooperation with our student release and pick- up procedures. If there are any changes to how your child will be going home, please notify the school at least an hour before the end of the school day. All changes must be submitted in writing or by email. If your child attends an after-school program, the school will also communicate with the program staff to ensure everyone is informed of the change in dismissal plans. These procedures help us maintain safe and organized dismissal procedures for all students. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
